Job Summary
Greet children and families with warmth while supporting transitions from home to program, including self-regulation and social engagement. Engage kids in meaningful activities using a programming cart, facilitate learning aligned with How Does Learning Happen?, and supervise indoor and outdoor play opportunities. Provide healthy snacks, ensure safe eating practices, and guide children through tidying up and preparing for their school day. Monitor behavior, offer targeted support, and assist colleagues to maintain a welcoming, organized environment. Work Monday to Friday from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the Dundana Centre.
Required Qualifications
- Early Childhood Education Diploma (ECE) and member in good standing with the College of ECEs OR educational requirements to obtain Director's Approval for working alone with children
- Related experience in a childcare setting
- Demonstrated knowledge and working ability to effectively interact with children requiring behavioural guidance
- Demonstrated knowledge of How Does Learning Happen?
- Experience in program planning and implementation for JK/SK and school-aged children
- Standard First Aid with CPR Level C
- Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Police Check
- Proof of up-to-date immunizations (TB, Tetanus, MMR)
- Monday to Friday 3:00pm - 6:00pm
- Total Weekly Hours: 16.5 hours per week
