Job Summary
Performs a variety of routine functions at public boat ramp facilities under supervision, including issuing and collecting money for boat ramp permits, directing autos into parking spaces, enforcing facility rules, coordinating facility use to prevent interference among users, settling disputes between users, and cleaning and performing minor maintenance of docks, buildings, and parking areas. Requires knowledge of boat ramp safety and basic arithmetic; must read, write, and communicate in English, count and record numerical data, follow detailed directions, and maintain cooperative working relationships with coworkers while interacting politely with the public. Employee duties may include cash handling with a cash register, and adherence to uniform requirements. Season runs May through September with hours ranging 7:30 AM to 8:00 PM and weekly hours between 16 and 40; position is outdoor and exposed to weather, with potential lifting up to 25 lbs and routine manual tasks.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum Age 18
- English language ability to read, write, and communicate sufficiently to perform duties
- Ability to perform basic arithmetic (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
- Ability to stand/walk for long periods and perform outdoor duties
- Uniform provided and must be worn at all times
