Job Summary
Read blueprints, specifications, and work orders to determine fabrication requirements. Operate and maintain equipment including table benders, shear lines, automatic benders, and overhead cranes for efficient rebar processing. Cut, bend, and shape rebar to required specifications, then assemble cages and reinforcement structures according to project needs. Inspect materials for defects, maintain inventory, and perform regular equipment maintenance checks. Adhere to all safety procedures and guidelines to prevent accidents while working collaboratively with team members to meet production goals. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area. Valid driver's license and ability to work flexible hours including overtime are required.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid driver's license
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50-75 lbs)
- Ability to climb and descend ladders and work at heights when necessary
- Ability to work flexible hours, including overtime, when required
- Willingness to adhere to safety protocols and quality standards
Desired Qualifications
- Vocational training or certification in construction or metal fabrication
- Experience in rebar fabrication, construction, or related work
- Familiarity with operating fabrication machinery and tools, including table benders, shear lines, automatic benders, and overhead cranes
- Good basic math skills for measuring and cutting materials accurately
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and work orders
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to operate machinery and tools safely
- Attention to detail and accuracy in measuring and cutting rebar
- Good manual dexterity and physical stamina for standing, walking, and lifting
- Ability to work as part of a team and follow instructions from supervisors
- Strong commitment to safety practices and adherence to company policies
- Comfortable working in a physically demanding environment that may include exposure to loud noises, dust, and varying weather conditions
