Job Summary
Operate a heavy-duty truck safely and efficiently on commercial and residential routes, servicing assigned customers while complying with transportation regulations. Manually dump containers or use a rear lift mechanism, empty the vehicle at disposal sites, and conduct pre- and post-trip inspections. Complete route paperwork, participate in weekly safety meetings, and assist other drivers when directed. Report customer complaints and operational concerns to dispatch professionally while maintaining reasonable, punctual attendance. Adapt to changing duties based on business needs and uphold a safety-focused environment.
Required Qualifications
- Appropriate Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Able to meet all Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements
- Acceptable driving record
- Basic mechanical knowledge
- Ability to read and write (logs, reports, orders, maps, etc.)
- Clarity of vision
- Must be able to work alone or with a team
- Local travel
- Required to use motor coordination with finger dexterity (such as keyboarding, machine operation, etc.) for most of the workday
- Required to exert physical effort in handling objects up to or less than 70 pounds frequently
- Required to be exposed to physical and occupational risks (such as cuts, burns, exposure to toxic chemicals, etc.) rarely
- Required to be exposed to a physical environment that involves dirt, odors, noise, weather extremes, or similar elements rarely
