Rear Load Driver

Job Summary
Operate a rear load trash truck on subscription routes or municipal territories; perform safe and efficient operation of the vehicle and helpers, collect/dump municipal wastes at transfer stations or landfills, maintain logs and route records, obtain load weight tickets, and perform daily cab cleaning and pre/post-trip inspections. Must hold WV CDL Class B with air brake endorsement, meet DOT physical/medical requirements, and pass DOT random substance screening; able to work outdoors in all weather, lift up to 75 pounds, and coordinate with supervisors for instructions and special requests.
Required Qualifications
- A valid WV Commercial Driver’s License (CDL Class B or equivalent) with air brake endorsement
- DOT physical and medical requirements
- pass a substance abuse screening
- customer service skills
- ability to sit in the cab for long periods
- ability to lift 75 pounds
- ability to work outside in all types of weather
- consistently perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections
- report maintenance issues
- ability to operate and manage a solid waste collection truck and related paperwork
- ability to communicate with Route Supervisor/Dispatch/Operations Manager
