Job Summary
Operate a front load trash truck in accordance with DOT Regulations and company policy on established subscription routes or municipal territories. Transport and dump municipal wastes at a regulated transfer station or approved landfill while coordinating with Route Supervisors, Dispatch, or Operations Managers to ensure all stops are picked up. Obtain load weight tickets, sign for loads, and maintain required records including driver logs, route sheets, and missed pickup logs. Clean the truck daily and perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections as outlined in the vehicle condition report, reporting any maintenance issues immediately to the route supervisor or operations manager.
Required Qualifications
- A valid PA Commercial Driver's License (CDL Class B or equivalent) with air brake endorsement
- Must meet all required DOT physical and medical requirements
- Must pass a substance abuse screening
- Ability to effectively deal with customers and co-workers
- High degree of attention and considerable dexterity in the control of the vehicle
- Ability to sit in the cab of the truck for long periods
- Ability to bend, stoop, and climb into and out of the vehicle and body unassisted multiple times a day
- Ability to push/pull heavy wheeled containers requiring heavy pushing/pulling force
- Ability to lift 75 pounds
- Ability to work outside in all types of weather
