Job Summary
Reality Capture Lead is responsible for the capturing and processing of photogrammetry, gaussian splats, lidar scans, prop scanner(s), and drone photogrammetry aerial imaging for multiple downstream uses. The role includes in-studio work and travel for location shoots, providing clear direction to photogrammetry technicians, communicating with stakeholders on location, and performing in-field QC before returning from location. The position involves rapid gaussian splat capture, photogrammetry capture of environments, LiDAR and prop scanner capture, drone operation for aerial lidar/photogrammetry, and operation of other scanners as needed. You will collaborate with the Photogrammetry Processing Lead to ensure data fidelity, monitor emerging technologies, manage field technicians, maintain equipment, document workflows, and ensure continuity between set notes and captures. A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is required, with 6+ years in LiDAR/photogrammetry, 6+ years of camera field work, 2+ years drone capture, and proficiency with Unreal Engine, specialized scanning tech, and post-processing pipelines. A valid FAA 107 drone license, passport for international travel, and the ability to travel for extended periods are also required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in relevant field or equivalent experience
- 6+ years experience in LiDAR and photogrammetry
- 6+ years of camera field work experience
- 2+ years Drone capture experience
- FAA 107 licensed drone pilot
- Extensive understanding of Unreal Engine and real time applications
- Expert knowledge of photography and lighting
- Expert with LiDAR, structured light, photometric stereo and other scanning technologies & software
- Extensive experience with drone and other aerial capture techniques of large environments
- Deep understanding of post scan data processing pipeline
- Coding capability as it relates to refining and automating processes
- In depth knowledge of machine learning reconstruction techniques such as Nerfs and Gaussian Splats
- Understanding of digital video production, digital workflows, cinematography, and/or post production environment
- Adaptable/flexible in high-stress environments
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs, and walk 3 miles
- Must have Valid Passport for international travel
- Be able to travel for extended periods of time on short notice
