Real Time Crime Center (RTCC) Analyst/UAV Operator

Job Summary
Conduct crime analysis, intelligence development, and real-time aerial surveillance to support law enforcement and public safety operations. Collect and analyze crime reports, arrest data, and field interview information using GIS, CAD, and NCIC databases to identify patterns and produce crime bulletins, hotspot maps, and intelligence briefings for patrol, investigations, and command staff. Operate Unmanned Aircraft Systems to provide live video feeds and situational awareness, interpreting drone imagery to identify suspects, hazards, and evidence while conducting pre-flight inspections and maintaining FAA Part 107 compliance. Generate statistical reports and present findings to department leadership and external partners. Requires working nights, weekends, and holidays during critical incidents.
Required Qualifications
- Knowledge of crime analysis principles and practices
- Knowledge of city and departmental policies and procedures
- Knowledge of FAA/UAS regulations and safe drone flight operations
- Knowledge of computers and job-related software programs
- Skill in the analysis of data and the preparation of reports
- Skill in the use of office equipment such as a computer, scanner, fax machine, and copier
- Skill in interpersonal relations
- Skill in oral and written communication
- Skill in usage and application of analytical software, GIS platforms, CAD/RMS systems, and other related systems
- Ability to operate UAS platforms in public safety or comparable environments
- Ability to operate under high-pressure, time-sensitive conditions
- Ability to present complex information clearly to varied audiences
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
- Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with the completion of a baccalaureate degree in a course of study related to the occupational field
- Experience sufficient to thoroughly understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually associated with two to three years of related experience in crime analysis, intelligence analysis, GIS, or law enforcement support functions
- Possession of or the ability to obtain Crime Intelligence Analyst Certification through POST
- Possession of a current FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate
- Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver's license issued by the State of Georgia for the type of vehicle or equipment operated
- Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily
