Job Summary
Appraises real property within Liberty County by conducting on-site reviews and inspections, producing valuation models, researching deeds and plats, and communicating with taxpayers, the Board of Assessors, and other agencies. Responsible for examining taxable property returns, processing appeals, explaining exemptions and assessment rules, and detailing valuation processes. Performs on-site inspections of real estate and mobile homes, supports damage assessments after disasters, and maintains inspection equipment. Requires knowledge of real property valuation techniques, state laws governing property taxation, and the geography of county properties. Works in both office and outdoor environments with physical duties and travel as needed; requires an associates degree and more than two years of related experience, plus a Georgia Class C driver’s license. Salary is full-time hourly non-exempt with standard hours and potential overtime; benefits package offered.
Required Qualifications
- Associates degree in a related course of study
- More than two (2) years of related experience
- Possession of a valid Georgia Class C driver’s license
- Ability to meet necessary requirements of Appraiser I-IV as mandated by the Georgia Department of Revenue
