Job Summary
Advise real estate investors, developers, and private equity sponsors on complex tax matters for acquisitions, dispositions, joint ventures, financings, and development transactions. Structure and negotiate deals to achieve tax-efficient outcomes while representing funds, REITs, and institutional investors. Provide guidance on partnership taxation, pass-through entities, REIT taxation, and Section 1031 exchanges. Manage sophisticated matters with direct client interaction and transaction teams. Requires a J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school, Texas bar admission, and experience advising sophisticated real estate market participants. An LL.M. in Taxation is preferred. Required Qualifications
- J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school
- Texas bar admission or ability to become admitted
- Experience handling real estate tax matters gained at a sophisticated law firm
- Experience advising clients regarding the tax aspects of commercial real estate acquisitions, dispositions, joint ventures, financings, and development transactions
- Experience representing real estate funds, REITs, private equity sponsors, developers, institutional investors, and other real estate market participants
- Experience structuring and negotiating transactions to achieve tax-efficient outcomes
- Ability to manage sophisticated matters while working directly with clients and transaction teams
- Strong analytical, research, drafting, and communication skills
- Excellent academic credentials

- Experience with the tax aspects of real estate fund formation, joint ventures, and private equity transactions
