Job Summary
Lead real estate review appraisals for multifamily and commercial properties (5+ units; complex properties) for JPMorgan Chase CRE, ensuring appraisal reports meet internal policies and regulatory standards (USPAP & FIRREA). Review and validate market values, collaborate with stakeholders to ensure reports are complete, accurate, and relevant, and support the CRE appraisal review process with ongoing market knowledge development. Role emphasizes risk-informed decision making, quality assurance, and professional growth within a fast-paced, collaborative team. Preferred credentials include MAI designation, Argus software proficiency, and national review experience; a 4-year college or master’s degree is preferred, with a State Certified General Appraiser License for commercial positions and a minimum of 10 years’ experience in related appraisals/reviews.
Required Qualifications
- A 4-year college or master’s degree is preferred
- State Certified General Appraiser License (Commercial Positions)
- Minimum 10 years’ experience appraising and/or reviewing complex multifamily residential, mixed-use, and/or commercial properties
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook (Microsoft Office Suite)
- Understanding of construction types and mechanical systems; hazards such as flood, environmental, earthquake, and zoning conditions
- Ability to analyze properties with complex characteristics
- Superior knowledge of local real estate metro areas and neighborhoods
- Strong analytical, business writing, and oral communication skills
- Ability to multi-task and elevate critical issues in a timely manner
- Must be self-motivated and manage time efficiently to meet service-level deadlines
Desired Qualifications
- MAI designation from the Appraisal Institute or equivalent credential is preferred
- National Review experience is a plus
- Comprehensive knowledge or certification of Argus software is preferred
