Job Summary
Coordinate all applicable residential loan documentation from origination through funding in accordance with ILWU Credit Union policies and government regulations. Assist members with loan inquiries, applications, title issues, and product discussions for purchases, refinances, or second mortgages. Prepare loan documents, close/disburse loans, set up payments, and process exports from the loan origination system. Communicate effectively with members and vendors while maintaining strict confidentiality. This role requires four years of real estate loan processing experience, proficiency in Microsoft Office and the Mortgagebot Loan Origination System, and strong analytical skills. Candidates must handle multiple projects with minimal supervision and serve as a backup for other positions as needed.
Required Qualifications
- four years real estate loan processing or underwriting experience in a financial institution
- Working knowledge of credit fundamentals, real estate products, policies, procedures, and all applicable laws and regulations
- Proficient in Windows, MS Word, Excel, Internet, and 10-key
- Excellent member service skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to protect and adhere to member privacy and confidentiality guidelines
- Good written communication skills
- Good math, reading, and comprehension abilities
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Self-motivated and self-directed
- Good organization and time management skills and the ability to handle multiple projects with minimal supervision
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
- Ability to maintain accuracy and promptly complete duties with a high degree of attention to detail while meeting demanding deadlines
- Ability to take initiative and make decisions within established guidelines
- The versatility and flexibility to successfully serve as a back up to other positions as required
- Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions
- Working knowledge of English, spelling, and grammar
- Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding Credit Union records and data
- Mortgagebot Loan Origination System is a plus
