Job Summary
Manage and monitor the performance, quality, and risk profile of the Bank's commercial and residential real estate loan portfolio through ongoing reviews, credit analyses, and covenant monitoring. Lead the review, analysis, and management of criticized and classified assets, including workouts, restructurings, and loss mitigation strategies while coordinating with legal counsel and internal stakeholders. Direct and coach Portfolio Management staff, conduct performance evaluations, and foster a culture of compliance and continuous improvement. Provide overall leadership for departmental readiness for internal audits, external audits, regulatory examinations, and independent loan reviews, serving as the primary liaison for auditors and regulators. Review audit findings, develop corrective action plans, and ensure portfolio management records support regulatory compliance. Maintain current knowledge of applicable banking regulations and industry best practices affecting portfolio management activities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Real Estate, Business Administration, Accounting, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in commercial real estate lending, portfolio management, loan review, credit administration, workout management, or related banking functions
- Minimum 2 years of supervisory or management experience
- Strong knowledge of commercial and residential real estate lending, credit risk management, loan documentation, and portfolio administration
- Demonstrated experience managing problem loans, restructurings, and workout strategies
- Strong analytical, financial statement analysis, and credit underwriting skills
- Working knowledge of FDIC, DFS, and other applicable regulatory requirements
- Excellent leadership, communication, presentation, and relationship management skills
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and interact effectively across all organizational levels
Desired Qualifications
- Advanced degree (MBA, MS Finance, MS Real Estate, or related field)
- Experience with commercial loan review, criticized asset management, and regulatory examinations
- Experience managing mixed commercial and residential real estate portfolios
