Job Summary
Real Estate Appraisal Officer within JPMorgan Chase's Risk Management and Compliance, Real Estate Appraisal team (Valuation Services Group) — Associate Real Estate Appraiser supporting multifamily and commercial appraisal assignments (5 to 500 units). Responsibilities include collecting, organizing, analyzing, and reporting market data; monitoring local/regional CRE markets; conducting property-level due diligence and inspections; assisting in appraisal reports with increasing contribution over tenure; collaborating with a certified general appraiser to complete assignments; estimating market value of collateral for real estate loans per internal policies, standards, and regulatory requirements; interviewing market participants for rent surveys and subject-property analysis; and performing other duties as assigned. Requires a 4-year degree and applicable real estate appraisal licenses or progress toward licensure; travel to property inspections and market research; strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills; proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook; interest in learning about local market areas and neighborhoods.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum a 4-year college degree
- Must have a General Appraiser License, Residential Appraisal license, Appraiser Trainee license, or be working toward General Real Estate Appraiser state licensure
- Strong analytical, organizational, and multi-tasking skills within a group setting and individually
- Advanced oral and written communication skills
- Computer/technology knowledge including MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Ability to travel to property inspections and for market research
