Job Summary
Lead proactive, strategic legal work supporting our portfolio, government partnerships, and growth. Draft, review, negotiate, and manage universal documents (e.g., Universal Lease, Community Guidelines, OMMPs, FMPs); negotiate terms with government stakeholders including Military Housing Offices, service branches, and the Department of Defense; support real estate transactions across the portfolio; advise on development and construction matters; assist with onboarding of new projects; ensure MHPI statutory/regulatory compliance; improve operational infrastructure and risk-mmitigation policies related to health, safety, maintenance, and environment; coordinate with outside counsel; collaborate with the Property Management Counsel and government-relations teams; interact with congressional staff and DOD investigators; demonstrate strong drafting, negotiation, analytical, and project-management capabilities; adept at cross-functional collaboration and delivering scalable legal processes.
Required Qualifications
- Juris Doctor Degree (JD) from an accredited U.S. law school
- Active bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
- 5–10 years of experience in real estate, transactional, or regulatory law
- Demonstrated experience drafting and negotiating complex operational and transactional documents
- Familiarity with federal regulatory frameworks, compliance obligations, and government oversight processes
