Ready Mix Plant Manager

Job Summary
Oversee ready-mix plant production, operations, and site facilities while managing batch men and drivers. Establish and monitor production plans, maintain accurate cost and inventory control, and document statistics for analysis. Responsible for safety, environmental compliance, OSHA/CalPortland regulations, and accident investigations. Manage capital and operating budgets, develop plans to lower operating costs, and ensure customer quality requirements are met. Perform personnel management duties including training, performance reviews, and discipline. Communicate with the local community and work closely with other departments to ensure materials performance.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5-7 years' experience running a ready-mix operation, including ancillary functions such as yard production and product delivery
- Experience with OSHA/MSHA regulations and requirements
- Knowledge of Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and requirements
- Experience managing groups of employees in one or more locations
- Experience implementing training programs for drivers including driving technique, truck maintenance, product delivery, ticketing, payments and customer service
- Personnel management experience, i.e., interview and selection, performance reviews, wage issues, discipline and legal compliance requirements
- Work experience with SAP or equivalent ERP system
- Knowledge of office systems, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite products, i.e., Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel
- Strong leadership, organizational, problem-solving and interpersonal skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Customer service orientation
- BS in Mechanical, Electrical, Mining, or Civil Engineering or equivalent a plus
- Any relevant operations management certifications, i.e. industry specific management training
- Must submit to post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check
- Some positions require FMCSA regulated on-going drug and alcohol testing
