Job Summary
Drive a ready-mix truck equipped with a concrete mixer to deliver concrete to job sites, performing pre-trip inspections and filling water tanks before each delivery. Upon arrival, safely maneuver the truck in unstable ground conditions to discharge concrete using chutes from the fender or hanging rack. Add necessary ingredients such as fibers, chemical admixtures, cement, or integral colors at the plant or job site as required. Communicate with dispatch via two-way radio and truck status signaling, while calling out daily start times. Complete all paperwork and collect payments prior to leaving the job site. Use map books and experience to take the most direct route to ensure on-time delivery. Maintain a clean driving record and handle cash transactions.
Required Qualifications
- Class A or B CDL or CDL Permit
- High school diploma (minimum); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to pass Federal Department of Transportation drug screen and physical
- Maintain driving record in accordance with Federal and State Motor Carrier regulations and meet company policy requirements
- Ability to handle cash and make change
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
- Must be able to read, write and speak in English
- Maintain Department of Transportation Health cond.
