Job Summary
Drive a ready-mix truck equipped with a concrete mixer to deliver concrete to job sites, performing pre-trip inspections and filling water tanks before each delivery. Upon arrival, safely maneuver the truck onto unstable ground to discharge concrete, adding necessary ingredients like fibers or cement as required. Communicate with dispatch via radio, manage cash collections, and complete all paperwork before leaving the site. Call out daily start times and take the most direct route using map books to ensure on-time delivery. Maintain a clean driving record and pass DOT drug and physical screenings. Average work hours are 10 per day, four to six days a week, with lifting 50 pounds frequently and exposure to extreme temperatures.
Required Qualifications
- Class A or B CDL or CDL Permit
- High school diploma (minimum); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to pass Federal Department of Transportation drug screen and physical
- Maintain driving record in accordance with Federal and State Motor Carrier regulations and meet company policy requirements
- Ability to handle cash and make change
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
- Must be able to read, write and speak in English
- Maintain Department of Transportation Health cond.
