Job Summary
Drive a ready-mix truck equipped with a concrete mixer to deliver concrete to job sites, performing pre-trip inspections per D.O.T. regulations and filling water tanks before each delivery. Upon arrival, safely maneuver the truck in unstable ground conditions to discharge concrete using chutes, adding necessary ingredients like fibers or admixtures as required. Communicate with dispatch via two-way radio, call out daily start times, and complete all paperwork and cash collection prior to leaving the site. Use map books and experience to take the most direct route for on-time delivery.
Required Qualifications
- Class A or B CDL or CDL Permit
- High school diploma (minimum); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to pass Federal Department of Transportation drug screen and physical
- Maintain driving record in accordance with Federal and State Motor Carrier regulations and meet company policy requirements
- Ability to handle cash and make change
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
- Must be able to read, write and speak in English
- Maintain Department of Transportation Health cond.
- Lifting 50lbs. frequently
- Average Work Hours: 10 hours/day, 4 - 6 days/week
- Extremes temperatures (C or H)
