Job Summary
Drive a ready-mix truck to deliver concrete to job sites, performing pre-trip inspections and filling water tanks before each run. Charge the mixer with admixtures based on delivery tickets, navigate unstable ground conditions, and discharge concrete using chutes as needed. Add ingredients like fibers or cement at the plant or job site, then complete paperwork and collect payments before leaving. Communicate with dispatch via radio and signal truck status, while calling out daily start times. Maintain a clean driving record and pass DOT drug and physical screenings. Handle cash, read safety manuals, and interact diplomatically with customers. Work 10 hours daily, four to six days a week, in extreme temperatures.
Required Qualifications
- Class A or B CDL or CDL Permit
- High school diploma (minimum); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to pass Federal Department of Transportation drug screen and physical
- Maintain driving record in accordance with Federal and State Motor Carrier regulations and meet company policy requirements
- Ability to handle cash and make change
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
- Must be able to read, write and speak in English
- Maintain Department of Transportation Health cond.
