Job Summary
Plan lessons, deliver instruction, and assess learners in accordance with the Kenyan CBC/8-4-4 curriculum while maintaining discipline and managing classroom attendance. Design continuous assessments, analyze results for feedback, and provide guidance to students with special needs. Mentor learners through co-curricular activities and communicate regularly with parents regarding progress. Maintain up-to-date records and participate in school committees under the supervision of the Principal. This fixed-term role begins July 31, 2026, in Kakuma or Kalobeyei, requiring a Bachelor of Education and TSC registration. Candidates must live in these settlement areas and align with LWF's humanitarian mission to support forcibly displaced people.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Education (Arts, Science, Special Needs Education)
- Registered with the Teachers Service Commission (TSC)
- Valid TSC number/certificate
- Specialization in at least two teaching subjects (e.g., Maths/Physics, English/Literature)
- Knowledge of CBC and/or 8-4-4 curriculum
- Proficiency in ICT integration in teaching
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Classroom management skills
- Organizational and time management abilities
- Problem-solving and decision-making skills
- High level of integrity and professionalism
- Ability to work under minimal supervision
- Teamwork and collaboration
