Job Summary
Lead tutoring sessions at local schools by pairing students for 20-minute reading practice and managing rotations to serve all assigned students daily. Conduct skill assessments, enter scores into data software, and track progress while meeting regularly with the onsite coach. Commit to personal growth through coaching and training, and share your experience with the community. You must be fluent in English, at least 18 years old, and able to pass a background check. Full-time AmeriCorps members receive bi-weekly stipends and education awards. Reading Corps has helped nearly 400,000 students through this high-impact program.
Required Qualifications
- Dependable and have a history of good attendance
- Able to follow instructions and make improvements based on feedback
- Proficient in basic computer skills (like email and navigating online)
- Fluent in English for speaking, reading, and writing
- 18 years of age or older with a high school diploma or equivalent
- A citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident of the United States
- Able to successfully complete a background check
