Job Summary
Deliver individualized and small-group reading interventions using evidence-based, multi-sensory instructional practices to help students with language-based learning differences develop literacy skills. Monitor student progress, analyze data, and adjust instruction to support growth toward IEP goals while collaborating with teachers, therapists, families, and school districts for coordinated support. Develop engaging lessons addressing each student's unique strengths and challenges, maintain accurate documentation, and participate in team meetings. Requires a Master's degree, valid Connecticut 102 Remedial Reading certification, and experience with Orton-Gillingham or similar structured approaches. Required Qualifications
- Master's degree
- valid Connecticut State 102 Remedial Reading and Remedial Language Arts certification or eligibility for Connecticut licensure
- Training or certification in Orton-Gillingham, Wilson Reading System, or another structured multi-sensory literacy approach
- Minimum of two years of experience working with students with special education needs and language-based learning differences
- Experience with IEP implementation, progress monitoring, and educational data collection
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills with a commitment to helping students of all abilities succeed
