Reading/ELAR Teacher 5-6

Job Summary
Provide students with engaging instruction in the core ELAR curriculum; develop and implement lesson plans aligned to district/campus curriculum; assess student learning and growth using formal and informal methods; collaborate with special education staff to modify curricula via IEPs; manage classroom environment and behavior; communicate professionally with parents and staff; supervise instructional aides and volunteers; participate in staff development and campus activities. Must have a Bachelor’s degree and valid Texas teaching certificate with endorsements, and demonstrate competence in the core subject area. Responsibilities include planning, instruction, assessment, and extracurricular involvement as assigned; comply with district policies and safety procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from accredited university
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or related training and work experience for certification waivers under the District of Innovation Plan (DOI)
- Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned
