Job Summary

Monitor resident behavior and activities 24/7 to ensure compliance with facility rules and regulations. Maintain a secure environment through regular patrols, headcounts, and searches of residents, rooms, property, and vehicles. Conduct same-gender pat-down searches and observed urine collection or breathalyzer testing. Control medication dispensing, manage facility sanitation via resident chores, and control all entry and exit points. Monitor electronic GPS reports for community residents and respond to emergencies swiftly. Serve as the first point of contact for law enforcement and probation officers while maintaining accurate incident logs. Requires availability for any shift, including day, swing, and graveyard rotations.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid Driver's License with a favorable driving record
  • Availability for any shift and any day of the week
  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods, including navigating stairs and uneven surfaces
  • Sufficient strength and dexterity to conduct pat-down searches, room/property/vehicle searches, and operate security/monitoring equipment
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds; bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach overhead
  • Adequate vision and hearing to monitor residents, detect risks, and respond to alarms/emergencies
  • Manual dexterity to operate automated tracking systems, electronic monitoring tools, communication devices, and perform First Aid/CPR/AED procedures
  • Ability to pass a comprehensive pre-employment process

Desired Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in Criminal Justice, Criminology, Psychology, Social Work, or closely related field
  • Prior experience in re-entry, corrections, law enforcement, security, residential living, mental health, social services, or related field
  • Situational awareness: Maintain vigilance and quickly assess dynamic situations
  • Conflict resolution: Effectively de-escalate conflicts and manage challenging behaviors while maintaining boundaries
  • Communication: Clear, professional verbal and written interaction with residents, staff, visitors, and agencies
  • Attention to detail: Accurate documentation, thorough searches, and protocol compliance
  • Adaptability: Adjust to unpredictable situations and evolving protocols
  • Technical proficiency: Learn and operate automated systems, electronic monitoring tools, and devices
  • Team collaboration: Work effectively with diverse staff to support operations
  • Positive attitude, willingness to learn, strong interpersonal skills, and commitment to building positive relationships
