Job Summary

Research and resolve patient account issues by communicating with billing vendors and third-party payors to verify claim status and demographic information. Prioritize daily workload using aging reports and investigate unpaid claims until resolution. Resolve claim errors, demographic discrepancies, and coverage issues within assigned work queues while maintaining compliance with Protected Health Information security requirements. Collect, document, and forward account updates including insurance submissions and payment postings. This role supports the Revenue Cycle Management team to reduce accounts receivable days and improve cash collections. Candidates must reside in the Upstate South Carolina area with occasional in-office presence in Greenville.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience with insurance collections, including Medicaid, Managed Care, BCBS, and Commercial accounts
  • Knowledge of medical billing procedures, health plans, and claims processing
  • Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Experience working with medical billing systems (e.g., EPIC, Allscripts, McKesson, or similar platforms)
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Must reside in the Upstate South Carolina area and be within reasonable commuting distance to our corporate headquarters in Greenville, SC
  • Occasional in-office presence may be required

Desired Qualifications

  • Understanding of medical terminology, including ICD-9 and CPT codes
  • Strong professional phone presence and customer service skills
  • Experience supporting multi-state or multi-location billing environments
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
