Job Summary
Atlantic Medical Management is hiring a Medical Coding Specialist to collect reimbursements by coding and transmitting patient care information, resolving discrepancies, adjusting patient bills, and preparing reports. Responsibilities include posting medical charges in NextGen software, reviewing documentation, identifying diagnostic codes, correcting claims with providers, and resolving disputed claims. A minimum of 2 years of coding/billing experience and a High School Diploma are required. Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS is essential. Strong interpersonal and customer service skills are necessary.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- 2 years of Professional coding/billing experience
- Demonstrated well-developed interpersonal skills
- Excellent customer service and professionalism
- Proficient computer skills
- Organized and efficient
- Self-motivated to meet objectives
Desired Qualifications
- AAPC certification preferred
- Experience with Medicare, Medicaid and other commercial and private payers
