Job Summary
Medical Biller for Home Health Services responsible for accurately preparing, submitting, and following up on claims to insurance companies, government payers (Medicare/Medicaid), and patients. Ensure timely reimbursement for home health services, maintain compliance with federal/state/local regulations, and communicate with healthcare providers and payers. Key duties include billing and claims submission with CPT/HCPCS/ICD-10 codes, accounts receivable management, denial investigation and appeals, and generating AR reports. Requires experience with billing software/EHR, knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid rules, and strong communication skills for payer and patient interactions. Desired certifications (e.g., CPC/CPB) and 1-3 years of home health billing experience are preferred.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred
- Certification in medical billing and coding desirable (e.g., CPC, CPB)
- 1-3 years of medical billing experience, preferably in home health care
- Strong knowledge of home health billing codes, insurance guidelines, and reimbursement processes
- Familiarity with Medicare and Medicaid billing guidelines and HIPAA
