RCIS Tech - Cardiac Cath Lab

Job Summary
Conduct diagnostic and interventional procedures in the cardiac catheterization laboratory by assisting cardiologists and electrophysiologists while operating sophisticated radiographic and computer equipment. Manage procedural inventory control, coordinate staff education, and serve as a liaison for out-of-hospital physician correspondence and order management. Perform Holter/Event monitoring hook-ups, IABP insertion, and hemodynamic monitoring with immediate response required during call rotation. Maintain patient comfort and well-being while applying critical care thinking in emergency situations. Requires current AHA/ARC BLS, AHA ACLS/ARC ALS, and RT (ARRT) or RCIS certification.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate or GED equivalent
- Completion of an approved Cardiovascular Tech or Radiology Tech program
- Current AHA/ARC BLS certification
- AHA ACLS/ARC ALS certification or obtained within 9 months of employment
- RT (ARRT) or RCIS (CCI) certification or obtained within 9 months of employment
- Successful completion of an HHC Basic Rhythm Interpretation Course or CLEP Exam within nine (9) months of hire
- Knowledge of cardiac interventions such as, but not limited to; Percutaneous cardiac balloon procedures, stents, IVUS, Flow Wire, IABP insertion, ACT, pericardiocentesis, mechanical and manual thrombectomy devices, hemodynamic monitoring, EKG interpretation and the ability to apply critical care thinking and application in an emergency situation
- Knowledge and experience in EKG interpretation, invasive lines, and sterile techniques
- Call rotation required with immediate response and 30-minute arrival time from notification
- One (1) year interventional experience (for Rad Tech)
