Job Summary
Conduct field inspections in agricultural areas, reading maps and aerial photos to measure fields, storage bins, and discuss crop loss findings with farmers. Perform fact-finding regarding damage, record information, and transmit loss data to determine potential indemnities while conveying complex regulations to claimants. Complete claim reviews and audits on lower-level adjusters as assigned, ensuring legal compliance through knowledge of regulatory policies. Travel approximately 50% of the time to cover Kittson, Marshall, Pennington, and Roseau counties, walking up to three miles and climbing bins up to 25 feet. Work 40 hours per week from a home-based office in Minnesota, obtaining Crop Adjuster Proficiency Program Certification within 180 days of hire.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- 6 or more months of experience in the agricultural area
- Crop Adjuster Proficiency Program Certification (CAPP)
- Reliable personal transportation
- Valid Driver's License
- Ability to walk in agricultural fields up to 3 miles
- Ability to climb agricultural storage bins up to 25 feet
- Ability to lift 25 lbs. to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying temperatures/weather conditions
- Must be able to live within and service Kittson, Marshall, Pennington, Roseau counties in Minnesota
- Must be available for approximately 50% travel
- Must be able to work 40 hours per week
- Must be able to work from a home-based office in Minnesota
