Job Summary
Assists residents in daily living activities and promotes their independence while ensuring a safe and clean environment. Responsibilities include providing direct care, monitoring resident conditions, maintaining confidentiality, and following health care protocols. Applicants should possess a High School diploma, current First Aid and CPR certifications, and a desire to work with the elderly. Fluency in English is required, with additional language skills preferred. Candidates must demonstrate good judgment, patience, and effective communication skills.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Must maintain current First Aid certification
- Must maintain current CPR or BLS certification
- Ability to receive and maintain a California Background Clearance through the Department of Social Services
- Desire to work with the elderly
- Good physical and mental health
- Ability to work alone, as well as part of a team
- Effective use of interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong organizational and leadership skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent customer service
- Physical ability to spend extended periods of time on their feet
- Ability to understand and follow written and/or verbal directions
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience in a health care setting or work with the elderly population preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office is a plus
- Fluent in Chinese (Cantonese and/or Mandarin) preferred
- Fluency in other languages are an asset
Additional Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays
