Job Summary

Provide direct behavior support services to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, implementing individualized behavior support plans and skill-acquisition programs under supervision. Teach communication, social, adaptive, community, and daily living skills while helping individuals increase independence and participate more fully in their communities. Support individuals experiencing aggression, self-injury, or impulsivity using calm, respectful, and consistent approaches, and collect accurate behavioral and skill-acquisition data during sessions. Communicate progress and updates with BCBAs, supervisors, caregivers, and team members while participating in supervision, training meetings, and professional development. Work in residential, community, in-home, or site-based settings with regular BCBA supervision and access to role-specific training and certification sponsorship.

Required Qualifications

  • Current Registered Behavior Technician certification, or eligibility for approved certification sponsorship
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Ability to provide in-person services in Joplin
  • Ability to work an agreed-upon schedule within the Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. timeframe
  • Comfort supporting adults with significant behavioral support needs
  • Ability to follow detailed behavior support plans and intervention procedures
  • Ability to collect and document data accurately
  • Ability to remain calm, professional, and consistent during high-intensity situations
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with BCBAs, supervisors, caregivers, and team members
  • Respect for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities
  • Commitment to ethical, person-centered, and trauma-informed support
  • Willingness to complete required training and maintain required credentials

Desired Qualifications

  • Current RBT certification in good standing with the Behavior Analyst Certification Board
  • Experience providing ABA or behavior support services
  • Experience supporting adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities
  • Experience implementing behavior support plans
  • Experience supporting individuals with aggression, self-injury, or other significant behavioral needs
  • Experience collecting behavioral or skill-acquisition data
  • Interest in continued professional growth within ABA or developmental disability services
