Job Summary
Provide instruction to students as directed by the teacher and guided by IEP goals. Work with groups of children and one-on-one with individual students as mandated by the IEP. Reinforce therapy techniques, support self-care activities, and encourage communication and social interaction. Maintain a safe environment during classroom time, gym, trips, and bussing while assisting with documentation and ABC data collection. Keep track of supplies, organize materials, and clean equipment. Maintain open communication with families through Class DoJo and school functions.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalency
- New York State certified as a Level I Assistant Teacher
- Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certificate
- Experience with Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in a preschool setting
- Associate's degree in early childhood education
- 2 years experience in a Special Education Preschool setting
- Experience with children with disabilities especially those with vision impairments
