Job Summary
Principal Systems Engineer for Raytheon Vision Systems leading airborne/space EO/IR sensor programs. You will plan and manage multidisciplinary engineering activities, guide requirements and interfaces, support proposals and change management, and work with a cross-functional team to deliver EO/IR imaging systems within cost and schedule targets. Responsibilities include coordinating inputs for proposals, leading production and development technical efforts, overseeing trade studies, communicating technical findings to leadership and customers, and driving RCCA efforts to resolve hardware, software, and system issues. The role requires a bachelor’s degree in a related STEM field (or higher) with 8+ years of experience, or an advanced degree with 5+ years, hands-on EO/IR experience, and the ability to obtain/maintain a DoD security clearance. Proficiency with system requirements management, design reviews (SRR/PDR/CDR/TRR/TDR), and documentation is preferred. Relocation assistance is available.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related STEM discipline
- minimum 8 years of relevant experience or advanced degree with minimum 5 years of experience
- Experience with EO/IR systems including design, analysis, development, troubleshooting, and testing of electro-optical subsystems
- Knowledge of infrared focal plane array (IR FPA) technology and its application within EO/IR systems
- Experience developing product specifications and managing requirements, including distilling system-level requirements and deriving subassembly/component requirements
- Experience performing system design activities including trade studies, optimization, and performance assessments
