Job Summary

Produce didactic texts and research for exhibition publications, support proposal development and schedule management, and coordinate studio visits for artist research. Provide organizational and project support for the Museum's exhibitions and collections, while contributing research and writing for Studio magazine and digital platforms. Assist with activities across Communications and Learning and Engagement departments, and execute special projects as assigned. Work 35 hours weekly under the direction of the Associate Curator to develop workflows for diverse programming.

Required Qualifications

  • Strong background in mid-twentieth century and contemporary art by artists of African descent
  • Advanced skills with Microsoft 365 and Adobe Creative Cloud
  • Familiarity with The Museum System (TMS/TMS Collections) and NetX
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Flexibility in adjusting to shifting priorities with a proven ability to meet multiple deadlines
  • Bachelor's degree in art history, museum studies, or an adjacent field from an accredited college

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience working in a museum or cultural organization
