Job Summary
Review and approve liabilities, ensuring relief applications are accurate, and liaise with colleagues, clients, and local government agencies. Manage assigned clients' Business Rate, BID Levy, and Council Tax liabilities across their property portfolio, ensuring all entitlements to reliefs are explored and claimed. Identify opportunities to generate savings for clients and recover overpayments from Local Authorities. Operate as a client contact to attend meetings, provide support and advice, and maintain the Riverlake database to accurately reflect the portfolio. This Business Rates Account Manager role sits within JLL's Business Rates Team, supporting a global commercial real estate firm that combines services, advisory, and technology to shape the future of real estate.
Required Qualifications
- Experience of the Business Rates system as a Rate Account Manager or from a Local Authority background
- Knowledge of rating case law and legislation
- Good analytical and reporting skills
- Familiarity with Riverlake, Analyse, and Softology software
- Possess a professional attitude
- Able to manage and prioritize own workload and assign tasks to administrative support
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
