Job Summary
Rare Disease Business Manager – Primary Immune Deficiency and CIDP. Drive new patient starts, expansion of sales in outpatient infusion centers and hospitals, and retention of patients on Takeda augmentation treatment. Conduct customer engagements to present technical/product information, educate healthcare professionals on neuromuscular conditions and Takeda support resources, and navigate influence points within offices to impact diagnosis, treatment, and referrals. Build and execute data-driven business plans, participate in community education events, and collaborate with Marketing, Patient Services, Alternate Site Team, Integrated Health Systems, Market Access, and National Accounts to pull through opportunities. Requires strong organizational and territory planning skills, ability to interpret analytical data to shape sales strategies, and willingness to travel; roles involve engaging healthcare professionals across Allergy/Immunology, Pulmonology, Infectious Disease, Internal Medicine/Primary Care, and Neurology, with a focus on Primary Immune Deficiency and CIDP. The position is based in the USA with a virtual/remote work arrangement in California and related travel as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree – BS/BA
- 3+ years of successful selling experience in pharmaceutical, biotech or medical device and/or relevant clinical or industry experience
- OR 2+ years of successful selling experience at Takeda
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proven ability to navigate complex selling environment and influence across various decision makers in key accounts
- Strong business acumen and strategic planning skills
- Demonstrated territory planning, strategic account management and prioritization skills
- Ability to interpret analytical data to create effective sales strategies
- Strong collaborative skills and ability to work within a matrix of cross functional partners on behalf of the customers served
- Understanding of payer access and reimbursement at territory, regional, and state levels
- Adaptability to changing market conditions and customer needs
- Demonstrated learning agility with ability to successfully develop and compliantly apply clinical expertise and selling skills
- Reside within the territory or supported geography
Desired Qualifications
- 5+ years of pharmaceutical sales experience, preferably in rare disease
- Sales experience coordinating with patient access and market access teams
- Consultative/needs-based selling skills
- Experience working in a highly regulated marketplace
- Adept at leveraging emerging technologies, digital tools, and openness to AI-enabled processes
