Job Summary
Define housing stability goals and develop individualized plans for veteran families seeking rapid rehousing. Screen applicants, collect paperwork, and process Temporary Financial Assistance and SSA applications while coordinating referrals for legal, employment, and community services. Accompany participants to appointments at VA, DSS, and court, and assist with administrative tasks including lease filing and utility setup. Monitor case milestones, maintain detailed outcome records, and attend team meetings to support service delivery across NYC and Long Island.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- 2 years of human services experience
- Effective written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work in an office setting
- Ability to work at sites across NYC five days a week
Desired Qualifications
- Basic computer skills (e.g. MS Office suite and Windows)
- Self-motivated and resourceful
- Strong verbal communication skills
- Bilingual English/Spanish
- Ability to work both as a team player and independently
- Knowledge of local resources, Veteran entitlements or other benefits
