Ranger--Golf Cart Attendant

Job Summary
Welcome members and guests to the club and assist golfers at the bag drop area with clubs, shoes, and cart loading. Provide parking lot pickup service for missed drops and guests using the facility for meetings or social events. Maintain the operating golf cart fleet through proper rotation, cleaning, and reporting any damage, while monitoring driveway, walkway, and range ball cabinetry maintenance. Distribute ashtrays as requested and dispense driving range golf balls upon purchase. Complete opening and closing checklists, maintain the starting sheet, and protect club assets including golf bags. Operate a golf cart in a fast-paced environment requiring 90% standing and walking, with lifting up to 50 pounds.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Three to six months related experience and/or training
- Equivalent combination of education and experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Products such as Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Ability to read a limited number of two and three syllable words
- Ability to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers
- Ability to print and speak simple sentences
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers
- Ability to multiply and divide
- Ability to perform operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance
- Ability to operate a golf cart
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced, high energy, and physically demanding environment
- Must be able to spend 90% of working time standing, walking, and reaching and 10% of working time sitting
- Must be able to push, pull and lift objects from a lower to higher position or move objects horizontally, from position to position
- Must be able to feel or grasp objects of different size and shape
- Must be able to maintain body equilibrium to prevent falling while walking, standing or crouching in narrow, slippery, or erratically moving surfaces
- Must be able to use physical capabilities including climbing and ascending or descending ladders, stairs, and ramps
- Must be able to carry loads greater than 35 pounds
- Must be able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally
- Must be able to exert up to 30 pounds of force frequently
- Must be able to communicate clearly with guests in the primary language of the golf club, specifically English
- Must be able to hear sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction
- Must have specific vision abilities including close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus
