Ranger Coordinators

Job Summary
Coordinate ranger team development and day-to-day operations for Indigenous land management programs in the Kimberley and Pilbara regions. Organize remote field trips, including safety planning and logistics, while facilitating connections between ranger teams, industry specialists, and funders. Support intergenerational transfer of cultural knowledge and coordinate right-way burning practices. Assist with establishing biodiversity surveys and monitoring programs, recording cultural, GIS, and threatened species data using field-based apps. Maintain regular communication with rangers and Traditional Owners, facilitate planning sessions, and spend extended periods on Country, including camping during the field season from March to November.
Required Qualifications
- demonstrated experience in Indigenous land management and/or strong skills in environmental science, natural resource management, community development or related practical fields
- resilient, adaptable and enjoy working in remote environments
- collaborative and confident team players
- strong facilitation, coordination and multi‐tasking skills
- comfortable working respectfully with Aboriginal people to achieve shared goals
- able to undertake extended periods of remote field work, including driving and camping in desert conditions
- Show initiative and can work effectively with limited supervision
- strong problem‐solving, organisational and communication skills
- Hold a current manual driver's licence and are competent in operating 4WD vehicles in remote and off‐road conditions
- Are able to obtain a current Police Clearance and Working with Children Check
