Job Summary
Oversee and manage shooting venues to ensure their highest and best use while providing high-quality instruction, direct leadership, and mentorship to participants. Act as a subject matter expert in multiple shooting disciplines, ensuring all equipment is maintained and range safety procedures are strictly followed. Control small team movements to deliver programs and complete range tasks, while modeling the Scout Oath and Law in daily interactions. Maintain a clean, organized, inspected, and safe work area, knowing effects and risk estimate distances for all munitions. Perform additional duties assigned by SBR leadership and abide by staff handbook policies. Requires an NRA Certified Instructor credential and the ability to stand, walk, and hike up to 9 hours daily.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum age: 21+
- NRA Certified Instructor (Rifle/Pistol/Shotgun/RSO minimum)
- Willing to become a registered Scouting America member (includes background screening)
- Comfortable using Microsoft Teams for daily work-related communication
- Ability to stand, walk, and hike up to 9 hours daily
- Ability to lift/move up to 70 pounds
- Complete the Annual Health and Medical Record, including height/weight guidelines
Desired Qualifications
- 2+ years Summit Employment Experience or equivalent military/LE experience
- High emotional intelligence (such as self/social awareness and team dynamics)
- Positive and cheerful attitude with a strong customer-service focus
- Adaptability in a fast-paced environment with ability to learn/develop hard and soft skills
- Ability to connect with individuals from diverse age groups, maturity, and backgrounds
