Job Summary
Provide high-quality instruction to guests in archery and firearms shooting while ensuring range safety at all times. Model the Scout Oath and Law in daily interactions and maintain a clean, organized, inspected, neat, and safe work area. Perform additional duties assigned by SBR leadership and abide by policies outlined in the staff handbook. Complete the Annual Health and Medical Record and work 45-55 hours daily, including hiking up to 9 hours and lifting up to 70 pounds. Comfortable using Microsoft Teams for communication and willing to become a registered Scouting America member.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum age: 18+ or 21+ depending on certification area
- USA Archery Level 1 Instructor (training provided)
- NRA Certified Instructor (Rifle, Pistol, Shotgun) (training provided)
- NRA Certified Range Safety Officer (if 21+)
- Willing to become a registered Scouting America member (includes background screening)
- Comfortable using Microsoft Teams for daily work-related communication
- Ability to stand, walk, and hike up to 9 hours daily and ability to lift/move up to 70 pounds
- Complete the Annual Health and Medical Record, including height/weight guidelines
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in competitive shooting or hunting, any discipline
- High emotional intelligence (such as self/social awareness and team dynamics)
- Positive and cheerful attitude with a strong customer-service focus
- Adaptability in a fast-paced environment with ability to learn/develop hard and soft skills
- Ability to connect with individuals from diverse age groups, maturity, and backgrounds
