Job Summary
Train and evaluate student drivers to become licensed commercial drivers. Instruct safety inspections, teaching driving skills (turns, curves, backing, etc.), and evaluate progress from the range to the road. Ensure students perform well with upgrades/downgrades, intersections, expressways, and other driving scenarios. Address student issues and support organizational objectives. Must hold a Class A CDL and, if tasked with administering exams, an appropriate CDL Examiner state certification. Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent (Associates preferred); ability to work in all weather; strong communication; self-motivation; ongoing education to maintain state teaching standards (PTDI/CVTA). Required Qualifications
- 2+ years OTR experience required
- Must qualify as a Class A CDL driver
- Must have appropriate state certification as a CDL Examiner if tasked with administering exams
- Must be able to work in all types of weather conditions
- Must be able to handle changing priorities
- Must possess exceptional communication skills
- Must be self-motivated
- Must engage in ongoing education relating to teaching skills to maintain state licensure requirements
- Must maintain PTDI and CVTA standards and complete a minimum of two AAVTS modules annually
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Associates preferred
- Must obtain additional endorsements within 90 days of notification
