Job Summary
Rangatahi Hauora Programme Lead (fixed term until 30 June 2027, 40 hours/week with potential for part-time hours). Lead and facilitate delivery of Taakiri Tūu Te Rangatahi in schools, kura and alternative education settings; build partnerships with iwi, schools, health providers and community organisations; ensure safe, engaging, culturally responsive activities; coordinate programme logistics including events, resources, evaluation and reporting; explore funding and growth opportunities. Requires leadership experience with rangatahi, especially Māori, Pasifika and care-experienced youth; qualifications in Health and Wellbeing (minimum Level 4) and preferably tertiary qualifications in Health, Social or Youth Development; strong facilitation/teaching skills, Te Ao Māori and Tikanga Māori knowledge, excellent relationship management, and a full driver’s licence.
Required Qualifications
- Three to five years’ experience working alongside rangatahi, particularly Māori, Pasifika and care-experienced youth
- A qualification in Health and Wellbeing (minimum Level 4 or equivalent)
- Tertiary qualification in Health, Social or Youth Development is preferred
- Proven leadership experience in working with rangatahi in either health, youth development or education
- Strong facilitation or teaching skills and confidence in both classroom and outdoor settings
- Understanding of Te Ao Māori and Tikanga Māori (Te Reo is an advantage)
- Knowledge of the health and education sector
- Excellent relationship management and communication skills
- Organisational skills to manage programme delivery, reporting and resources
- Full driver’s licence (ability to drive a van essential)
