Job Summary
Feed livestock, provide directed health care, and assist with breeding, calving, and selling animals while herding, handling, and transporting cattle. Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on ranch housing, water distribution systems, and general infrastructure. Safely operate light vehicles and machinery such as pick-up trucks, tractors, and chain saws by following operator instructions and wearing appropriate safety equipment. Construct new fences and repair existing ones to maintain corrals, buildings, and grazing lands in an orderly, clean, and safe manner. Requires a valid driver's license, clean driving record, and at least three years of ranch experience. Company housing provided.
Required Qualifications
- A high school education or the equivalent
- At least three years of experience working on a farm or ranch and performing work such as caring for livestock, fixing fences, cutting trees, mowing, and baling hay, etc.
- Experience in operating and maintaining farm equipment, such as tractors, mowers, chain saws, etc.
- Must have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record
- Handyman and carpentry skills
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to prove that he/she has a current and valid driver's license
- Must be able to successfully pass a physical and drug screening
