Job Summary
Ramp Lead ensures a safe work environment for the ramp crew while safeguarding aircraft and flight performance. Supports Ramp Agents’ professional development and ensures ground operations align with GAT policies and procedures to deliver excellent customer service and on-time flights. Partners with Supervisors and other leaders on staffing, supports regular and irregular operations, and may provide training to Ramp Agents. Key responsibilities include ensuring Ramp Agents wear PPE, enabling operational improvements, reporting flight delays to leadership, addressing security issues with leadership, performing under pressure, maintaining uniform standards, loading and unloading bags and cargo, operating ground support equipment, preparing cabins for boarding, ensuring ground equipment availability, and following safety regulations. Qualifications emphasize basic computer skills (Word/Excel), aviation knowledge, English proficiency, valid driver’s license, prior ramp/airline experience, willingness to complete training and certifications, and FBI background check. The role requires physical fitness for lifting and working outside in varying conditions, with flexible shifts including weekends and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- 6+ months computer experience and knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
- Working knowledge of GSE maintenance issues
- Experience and understanding of commercial issues in aviation
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English proficiently
- Valid Driver's License
- Previous ramp or airline experience
- Able to successfully complete all training requirements and maintain certifications
- Must clear FBI fingerprint background check
- Must be physically fit to perform duties including standing, lifting, bending, pushing, and pulling for extended periods
- Willing to work variable shifts, weekends, and holiday shifts
- Proof of high school or GED completion
