Job Summary
Ramp Lead Agent leads the outbound bag room operations and the loading/unloading of luggage, freight, and cargo on/off commercial aircraft, operates small specialized commercial vehicles, and trains/mentors ramp staff. Responsibilities include safe handling of cargo (up to 70 lbs), reading and applying weight/balance load sheets and manifests, ensuring load integrity and safety compliance, and working outdoors with variable shifts. Requires prior ramp/airline experience, English proficiency, a valid US driver's license, ability to lift heavy cargo, and completion of mandatory company/airline training and safety protocols.
Required Qualifications
- Prior Ramp/Airline experience required
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must have high school diploma, GED or six months experience as a Ramp Agent
- Must pass all pre-employment testing, including a drug test
- Must be able to proficiently speak, read, and write in English
- Must Possess and maintains valid US driver's license with no violations over the past 5 years
- Capable of safely lifting up to 70 lbs. continuously
- Must be available and flexible to work variable shifts including overtime, weekends and holidays
- Work is done primarily outdoors, must be comfortable working in all weather conditions
- Must be able to obtain and maintain all required Airport security badge
- Pass FBI background and obtain US Customs Seal
- Prior loading and unloading of heavy products or equipment (preferred)
- Ability to perform basic math calculations
- Ability to work at heights up to forty (40) feet
