Job Summary
Assist guests with travel needs including answering inquiries, baggage handling, ticketing, and boarding flights in a fast-paced environment. Perform below wing functions such as transporting baggage and cargo, loading and offloading luggage, aircraft marshaling, pushing back aircraft, and deicing. Execute aircraft grooming and security searches while processing and securing guest luggage, filing claims for damaged, delayed, or pilferage items. Direct guests at boarding and gates, make announcements, and process standby and upgrade requests. Work outdoors in all weather conditions and operate a computerized reservation system. At the direction of management, perform duties of varying capacities to ensure complete guest satisfaction.
Required Qualifications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to juggle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Must have a valid unexpired driver's license issued by a US state, a US territory or the District of Columbia
- Ability to learn and operate a computerized reservation system
- Typing speed of at least 25 WPM
- Ability to consistently lift 50 pounds
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time
- Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, reach and grasp
- Ability to perform basic mathematics
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays
- Ability to participate in paid training that may require overnight travel
- Depending on work location, ability to obtain USPS Mail Handling Certification
- Ability to obtain airport security clearance
- Ability to communicate in English
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum age of 18
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
- Availability: Weekend and holiday availability is required
- post-offer and/or pre-employment drug testing will be conducted to determine the presence of marijuana, cocaine, opioids, phencyclidine (PCP) and amphetamines or a metabolite of these drugs prior to any offer or employment or transfer into a safety-sensitive position
