Job Summary
Ramp Agent responsibilities include safely lifting, loading, unloading, and transporting baggage and cargo to and from aircraft; sorting and routing baggage; handling inbound/outbound transfers; delivering luggage to designated locations; guiding aircraft from the gate with hand signals; servicing aircraft water and lavatories; operating ground support equipment (tugs, belt loaders, tow tractors); using baggage scanners and computers to route baggage accurately; inspecting ramp areas for debris; maintaining communication with flight crews; and adhering to safety and security requirements in an outdoor, fast-paced environment.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test
- Ability to pass a physical capability test
- Ability to pass a criminal background check
- Ability to obtain & maintain airport SIDA badge, US Customs seal, and USPS security clearance
- Ability to work any shift, including early mornings, late nights, weekends and holidays
- Lifting up to 75 pounds on a frequent basis
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
