Job Summary
Raising Readers Central Marketing Internship focusing on the Raising Readers initiative. Interns assist with newsletter campaigns (copywriting, email building, ideation), digital content creation for paid social campaigns (shooting/editing social video assets, scripting), building online stores for ecommerce promotions, and monthly digital marketing reporting. The role includes attending department meetings, influencer research and outreach, coordination with booksellers and partner organizations, social media coordination, and participation in educational sessions and networking events. The position runs June–August with a 3-day hybrid schedule (home on Mondays; Midtown NYC office Tuesday–Thursday), 21–28 hours per week, and pay of $17/hour. Candidates should have an interest in marketing (email, digital advertising, digital asset creation), experience with Canva/Capcut/Photoshop/Microsoft Office, familiarity with Mailchimp/Klaviyo or similar email platforms, strong organization and communication skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced publishing environment.
Required Qualifications
- An interest in marketing with emphasis on email marketing, digital advertising, and digital asset creation
- Interest in exploring adult nonfiction and juvenile fiction titles
- Experience producing digital content (filming and editing social media videos, creating social media graphics) and portfolio samples
- Experience with Canva, Capcut, Photoshop, and Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with email marketing services like Mailchimp, Klaviyo, or similar
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, excellent written and verbal communication
- Ability to work in fast-paced environment with deadlines
- Ability to learn new software
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, manage time, and work independently and in a team

- Ability to work 21-28 hours per week
- NYC-based with minimum three set in-office days per week
